Maureen received her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame with a focus in Accounting. After an eight year commitment to the field of Accounting, she decided it was time to pursue her true passion of helping others and has been working in the Applied Behavior Analysis field since 2012.
Before working at the Aurora School, Maureen provided research assistance to a PhD candidate at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore. She is in the final year of a Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington D.C. Maureen plans to sit for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst exam in June 2015. She thoroughly enjoys working one on one and in group settings with students with disabilities and developmental delays. Maureen finds great satisfaction in helping students reach their full potential and advance through their Individualized Education Plans by mastering annual benchmarks and goals.
Diane Melick, M.A. Ed.
Diane has been working in the field of Special Education since 2007. She has worked in both elementary and middle school settings. Diane earned her Master’s Degree in Special Education from George Mason University in 2010. She completed George Mason’s Applied Behavior Analysis Certificate Program in 2013. Diane has a special interest in, and has performed research on, the effects of exercise on behavior. Diane is also interested in teaching reading comprehension, as well as how to teach functional academic skills that will lead to increased personal independence.
Claudia Dalton, M.S.
Claudia began working at the Aurora School as an ABA therapist in 2011. She earned her bachelor’s degree in pre-medicine and then earned her Masters in Biomedical Sciences form the University of Toledo. Growing up with a brother with autism, she has always had a desire to work in the special education field. She became a team leader in January 2014 and has worked with a variety of students. She is currently pursuing her special education license and plans to continue to grow in the field.
